Avoid Oahu.

Its a crowded dump.

Maui's a great place to start for a 1st timer.

Bring $$$$$. Beers can cost up to $12 each.

I like Maui too, but really haven't cared too much to fish while I have been there. It seems to be the most interesting geographically and geologically.

Gotta love the big Island. Been to all but Kauai and I like the big island best. Very layed back and not as many people after you get out of Kona. Good food, good drinks and good beaches. Well worth the trip.

If you get the chance, grab a sling and a mask and go have some fun. I spear fished all over around Kona when I was a kid staying summers there. Good times.

Maybe it was because we were staying at The Royal Hawaiian and drinking at the hotel bar...
