hello all and good day to you-

I just started fishing again after not having fished for 13 yrs. My 3 year old say some fishing show and asked(whined) that she wanted to go fishing. Long story short-I Got the BUG! Wife thinks I am crazy for getting up at 0500 to go fishing EVERYDAY!

I have been fishing Horseshoe(Kitsap) and limiting everyday in about 2 hours, plus or minus 20 minutes. I use powerbait and catch fish. I have started trolling, same result limit of trout in 90+. Today I got NOTHING! I know there are days like this, but would like to know about Bass fishing and some other trout lakes. I am bored at Horseshoe, need change of scenery. Not too good at this knowing where the fish are thing. I just go to the same two locations that I have caught fish and wait. I was wondering if someone(s) could tell me about these lakes:

Jackson Lake
Wye Lake
Carney Lake

I have an inflatable boat so I need to stay to the calmer lakes. What type of fish are at these and if anyone could kinda hint towards placed to fish-I would greatly appreciate it! smile Also where do I start to fish for Bass? I tried the lilly pads and with a weedless jig and lure, have lost about $20.00 to the weeds.

From reading the forum--YES I FISH BOTH SIDES!

Thanks for your time smile

Keith

P.S. Also intrested in some 'good'&'easy' pan fish lakes for the little one-for some reason doesn't like to sit for more than an hour or so with the ducks and water calling to her!

Welcome to the Forum Keith. You should find some good info here on the Forum and of course checking the reports and writeups of the vraious lakes in the Kitsap area. Kitsap isn't my usual fishing area so I can't really say what would be a good lake to take the little one for panfish. Anyone else have ideas out there?

Howdy! How about a little trip south on HWY3 to Benson Lake. Lot of fish of all types, no IC motors allowed, only electrics, and the scenery is nice. It is near Mason lake, about 12 miles north of Shelton. My 5 year old loves it there, and we feel comfortable fishing it in our 15ft canoe. You may also want to check out some kid only lakes, or family fishing lakes in your area. Consult the regs for the additional rules. best of luck. Andy

Stopped at the launch on Benson last Sunday. Most shore fishers had at least 3 fish, most 10 - 12, some 14". Lake has a rather big parking lot but shore spots are somewhat limited. It would certainly be worth a try. Take the Mascon Lake County Park turn off from Highway 3, then turn left on Benson Lake road. Launch is a short ways down on the right. (If you hit the 76 station / store, you've gone too far and passed the Benson Lake turn.)

confused Bass this time of year should be shallow. Try somewhere that has a firm bottom, with deep water close by.(spawning areas) Or deeper water With some cover (logs, Stumps)these are staging areas for post/pre spawn bass. Try some soft plastics (tubes,6"worm) Return spawning fish ASAP. Good luck, hope this helps. Let us know how you fair.

Keith,
I fish Horseshoe as well, but for a change of pace I hit Wildcat Lake evry now and then. $ trips there so far this year and limited every time, plus the bonus is, I have caught at least one fish over 16" on every trip. Try over by the Horse barn straight out from the creek.
