One of my clients processes seafood that is exclusively sold at Walmart.

They just opened a WinCo store in Lacey. It's supposed to really draw customers away from Walmart. Does that mean there will soon be a People of Winco website to compete with this: http://www.peopleofwalmart.com/

I saw a clip on the tube about Wal Mart in China. The locals are becoming regular shoppers there. Of course, most of the products aren't imports.

Wal Mart is my go to store for cheap plastic crap that's made in China. I really don't see why folks baulk at shopping there, don't they own most of America's debt?

Wal Mart = Satan
Directly responsible for the off shoring of a lot of manufacturing jobs.
Wal Mart's strategy is bullying. They tell businesses what they are going to make their product for cost wise. You don't play ball with Wal Mart then their China operations will run you into the ground.

99% of the products they sell are not made within 10,000 mile of the homeland (the good US of A). Those food stamps, get easily converted into Wal Mart profits. BTW, you can find some of the fattest asses in the World waddling down the isles of Wal Mart Stores.

Yeah...Great for America...look which way our economy has gone in the last 15 years. If you think Wally World is so fuggin great go get a job there and try to support your family on what they 'pay' you. Hope you like food stamps and living in a van down by the river.

We broke down and braved the horde to check it out, even though we've been to one before. The prices--especially produce-- were very impressive. The brand name stuff was the same as everywhere else, but I don't buy Oscar Meyer or Hostess products anyway. Did see some VERY interesting dental work and the creme de la creme of Yelm/Rainier/McKenna society was in attendance dressed in full trailer park regalia.

I refuse to shop there, employees are paid low wages and the few stores I went in had this funny selection of things. I did not find what I was looking for. The shelves were not well stocked or clean. The place was in chaos maybe because so many people shop there. No customer service. I could not find anyone to help me. Under staffed over worked employees could not keep the shelves stocked. 90% of what they sell in made in China. I wish to support products made in American, farms in America etc. Great business men put this together and yes it is cheap goods from poor countries. It is an amazing success, but the clothes are sub standard and will need to be replaced in a year. That is the whole idea is it not. Keep us buying. I will take quality over quantity anytime. I support livable wages and medical benefits are not given to employees until they have worked there full time for 1 year and the medical benefits are sub-standard & costly to the employee. Many employees are kept at part-time or cut to part-time as soon as they would qualify for medical. This is how the company survives and keeps costs down.
It is the perfect place for people who have shopping addition and they buy many things they don’t need. I did look at the lay out and they are clever with sucking people into specials. One thing they do well is make prices easy to see and instead of 5.99 it is 5.69 or 5.85 which makes a person think it is such a great deal. They use number games very interesting strategy's are used to get you to buy things you don’t want.
I don’t & won’t shop there

Wife and I were part of the horde you were braving. Wall to wall people and shopping carts. People were lined up just to get their hands on a shopping cart. Two checkout lines went to the back of the store. Despite the crowding and delays, people kept their cool. The prices were good, the shelves well stocked, and the employees we had contact with were friendly and helpful. Several grocery stores near Winco are going to have to get competitive real quick to keep their customers. Even the one stops like Freddie's, Costco and Walmart are going to know there's a new player in the game.
