I think what soured me most about Wal-Mart, besides the large parking lot, tons of people, the TYPE of people, long lines, and the fact that I typically try and NOT do what a majority of people do/want (I mean, if it is really popular and everyone is doing it, I tend to avoid it just for spite) but I kept going in there looking for one particular item and time and time again I walked out of there empty handed because they did not have it. I kept thinking to myself, "why do I keep going there when they never have what I need? Wife goes there sometimes but I avoid it like the plague anymore.

Not oversimplifying but.................. They sell products that are legal and usually cheaper than the competition. The China thing is not a fair criticism as any on this BB that is over 60 will remember the cheap Japanese imports when we were young. Then came Korea, India, Formosa, Brazil, just goes on and on.

The difference now vs then is the congress ( both D & R ) has made laws that make it advantageous to shut down US operations and invest in overseas facilities in fact they actually put us at a disadvantage. Then you have NAFTA, free trade, all that crap.

So as always we whack away at Wally because it is the big guy on the block. Wal-Mart did not develop this business model they just are VERY GOOD at it. You don't like them then don't shop there but off hand I would say your in the very small minority judging by their sales.

I'm the one who stops the cashier to ask for a price check when the price didn't ring up what it should've & now present handfuls of coupons. Did you know if you use coupons - somethings are free? Yep cheap...but...why not?

You're that dude.
I'm gonna make you eat those coupons the next time you pull that crap grin
That is unless there's some eye candy around to keep me entertained.

You might be a Walmartian...

if three generations of your family have been "feature creatures" on peopleofwalmart.com.

if your last two Black Friday shopping sprees ended with a medivac trip to a trauma center.

if a cell phone picture of your buttcrack has gone viral on a popular internet website.

You might be a Walmartian...

if you met your current wife and her extended family while checking out titles in the $5 dvd bin. The chance meeting having occurred when you both reached for the same copy of "Lassie, Come Home!"

if your wife's parents insist on coming over everytime you and the "little woman" decide to watch a PG-13 movie at home.

if you once entered a Walmart intending only to buy milk, but emerged with your credit line in shambles, two carts full of rollback priced bargains, and a 60" backlit LED flatscreen for your singlewide.

You might be a Walmartian...

if you know six Walmart associates by their first name. Chances are they don't know your first name, but they could pick your buttcrack out of a police lineup.

if you can walk your Walmart merchandise through the checkstand and simply say, "Put it on my tab!"

if the best financial advice you ever received from your parents was, "If it ain't rollback priced, don't buy it...filch it!"

....................................................................................

Attn: Walmart shoppers, don't take this too seriously. Hell, I go to Walmart, myself. In fact, I'm headed there right now to pick up some milk.

aside from the $15 a pair jeans i buy to work in, the walmart in aberdeen doesn't really have better prices than anywhere else that carries the same stuff in this area.

Let's not forget the unions that have jacked up the prices of American goods. I always laugh at the cheap "Chinese junk" at Walmart. So there are Chinese Snickers, AC/DC CDs, Autolite spark plugs, Campbells soup, Ball canning jars, Kitchen Aide kitchen gadgets, etc? Sure, they sell some cheap junk, ALL stores do, but a large number of the products they sell are name brand. Remember, not so long ago Walmart was a small business, they just prospered, the American dream. We still have to go to small local shops for salmon/tuna gear, reloading equipment, brake pads, etc.

Never forget when I was in a Walmart and there was this group of very Obese people with their shopping carts full of outdated Halloween candy..Kinda sad I guess.

Got three Walmarts out here (yes we must be that poor). Two opened up in the last four months. Walmart employs about 680 people in the area, which is a good thing. Not only that, other businesses are growing up around both Walmart and Cabela's next door to take advantage of all the people they draw, so more people employed.

Lot of retired people out here who shop at Walmart. You have to hang around for a while to get a look at anyone who would qualify for the People of Walmart site.

I comparison shop for food. Walmart is almost always cheaper. Bananas today are .39 a pound, compared to .59 yesterday at Safeway. Not much selection at Walmart, but the brand name items they do carry I will buy there before anywhere else because of price. I use Fred Meyer for meat and seafood and Costco for the bulk items.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Upon further review, it is confirmed, you are indeed a Walmartian.
And a seasoned one at that grin

Not sure if it is cool or not to shop at Costco, but Direct-Drive mention eye candy. Go to Costco in Woodinville and then to a Wal Mart in Lynnwood. You'll understand why I shop at Costco.
Sky-Guy doesn't call it Woodinmilf for nothing.... wink
