Hello all,
Has anyone ever fished Lake Cavanaugh in Skagit County? It sounds Like a good place to try for kokanee seeing how the deep water is only in one small area.. If anyone has anything to say about the lake I would appriciate the help! Also could a 19' Fiberglass Bayliner be launched there?? I hear the launch is good-fair..

Hey matt, I remember the lake as good for small kokes (sorry, aint sayin small koks) and we also caught some rainbows. It has been years but the road we took there was real rough and I wouldnt take a big boat up it. I believe the launch on that was also too crappy for a boat such as yours. Good luck!

Chuck your at the wrong lake. Your at the small one. The one Matt is talking about is out of Arlington. It has a very good launch. The lake is good for big Cutthroat. It's not a lake for car toppers, When the wind comes up you are glad your in a bigger boat. To my knowledge I have never heard of Kokanee being caught but I have been wrong before. This lake is good for water skiers and jet skis as it has homes all around it. But good luck anyway Jim S. laugh

I have a friend who has a cabin on the lake near arlington (isn't that Snohomish county?).
I've benn there many times and caught small bass, cutts, bows, and kokes there (cutts can get pretty nice sized). I use a row boat when I go, and never have any problems with the wind. Sometimes the jet skiiers and motor boats can be annoying. You could probably do the boat launch - but I've never tried it myself. In general, this is a beautiful lake and is generally very quiet with decent fishing. Hot summer weekends will draw some small but loud crowds.

Hope this is the lake you were referring to...
