The file name is just what the reader called the pic, no tricks here. It doesn't look like a kok, thats for sure. A salmon of some type or steelhead sounds about right. Bet it was fun on a trout rod!

Well, I told you the picture was 'just bad enough' smile

Sockeye or bow? Chances of it being a steelie are slim.

I'm sticking with it being a nice rainbow.

Anyone else??

MikeC - got any good pics of sockeye that we can compare this to?

Yup, Go to the Report Archives section, then at the top go to the "click here" link which takes you to archived stories. Click on the "Sockeye 2000" article. Note the picture of the fish that Matt is holding up (half way down the page). The two-tone color line looks just the same. That's why I don't think it's a rainbow - I've not seen that two-tone line. EXCEPT on steelhead.

Amazing! It must have taken years to reach Lake Sammamish, but finally after a millinium, the snook have returned to Lake Sammamish!

No seriously, I don't think that anyone will have the right answer with that "Loch Ness Monster" looking photograph. Maybe the indicator would be the fins. The fins appear to be almost clear or white. I believe, like most chars, lake trout have a white lining on their fins. This doesn't appear to have a lining at all. eek

It looks like a big 'BOW to me. Big lakes have big fish in them.
