Looking good- no foam floatation? or is it in sealed compartments?
And of course you are saving the old floor for templates. No flotation as the boat is over 20'. Don't need to make templates from old flooring as you wouldn't believe how nice the size of the new sheets are gonna be. Pretty much 3 sheets 4' x 73 1/2" and a 15" piece to finish that will have to be trimmed to fit. fp

Semi retired 10 years this month !!! Local, I'm putting in aluminum flat sheet and painting it with Herculiner. I too am happy when I go fishing as I've been full retired sine 2002. Of course, when I go fishing it seems like nobody works anymore. I'm be in McCleary Saturday working on it. Stop by, you ain't that far away and I'll give ya a warmed up scratch pad. fp

Got the boat masked off today. And Zolatone sprayed on. And then the clear coat is sprayed on. I'll get a outside picture tomorrow after we get it out of the shop. This has been a fun project with a lot of elbow grease but it looks like it will turn pretty darn good. New floor boards next week. fp

Got the Willie out of the paint shop today. Turned out pretty good and I am very happy. The son did a great job on it. WOOHOO!! A word of caution! Do not use that blue easy off masking tape in a heated paint booth. It will almost not come off and I'll be all day tomorrow scraping. grrrrrrrrrrrr fp

This is a very good adhesive cutter....citrus based. (not to be confused with Goof Off, xylene based....pretty hot) Might just have to get a batch of that. That is if I get tired of scraping. Thank you, fp

Get the darn thing in the water and get some scales on it! Painting a boat in the season is kind of like patching the roof in the rain, isn't it? Just pulling your leg.....looks good!

I don't use this boat this time of the year. But, might get it ready for some Crab fishing when the season here opens. Then it sits until Shrimping on the Hood in May. This is not my river boat but is my salt boat, fp

Hopping along again today with the old boat that needs some serious lovin'. Anybody that might be following the rebuild I'm getting there to the end soon. Sorry for the delay but I'm old and slow these days. Got the aluminum flat sheets cut, drilled, tapped and put into the boat for a look see if they fit trial. They did, WOOHOO!!! I'll take out and rough up, counter sink the holes, spray with primer and paint on the Herculiner tomorrow or by this coming weekend. This is a fun project! fp

Bet ya's thought I disappeared but no such luck! Been to nasty to finish the new floors but they are ready for the Herculiner as soon as the weather lets me. So here's the next step in getting the ol' Willie in better shape. Started the new seat covers on the Fish-on seats that I bought and had on my old Alumaweld back in 1982 I think. David is doing the upholstery as I have no clue how to do. First one turned out great and only 4 more to go. Using some 2" thick foam that ya don't bottom out on when crashing into waves. Should be great! fp

Wow, you have become a "picture posting" son of a gun............just goes to show you...people on the west side of Myrtle Street can and do in fact learn "usable" things.
It's been fun, watching the project come along....I have a few of those very same seats.........
