Wow! Hard to see that big pile of sweet meat go to waste. Good luck to the locals salvaging as much as possible.

Damn shame. I wonder if this doesn't happen with some regularity. I have dug there many times and always found easy limits. But about 10-15 years ago went down and found almost zero clams. Perhaps something like this happend earlier too?
