Does anybody know any lakes not too far from Battle Ground that are good for sunfish, crappie and perch? Does anybody know where Post Office Lake is?

Fishboy5 - I don't have any info, but if you'll look back in the old messages you will find some postings by Stacie who is the WDFW Biologist in SE Wash. She would be a resource. Good luck, Bart

I think Kress Lake, just off of Kalama River Rd., may have what you are looking for.

Good luck.

Battle Ground Lake's got them in it. Kress does like Carl said and also Horshoe Lake, oh and Silver Lake. I'm just taking a wild stab in the dark, but could Post Office Lake be that pond off SR503 on that road that goes by the Brush Prairie Post Office? Maybe. If it is, I think that's private. There's fish in there, but I don't think it is open to the general public.

You guys have covered the area pretty good but you forgot LaCamas Lake North of Camas. A great panfish lake with especially good Bluegills. Also planted heavily with Brown Trout if ya get tired of the bluegills.

Post office Lake is down off Lower River Rd. Its almost to the end. It was dry this last year and is not really a fishing lake. It has a small stream that runs in to the columbia River on the West end.
As far a Panfish this time of year it gets real slow. The Crappie are thick in Streets channel at Silver lake. There are a few small perch in the Woodland bottoms. And Kress has them all , but with the cold water it's really slow.
Muthnomah channel is also a good bet, but you need an Oregon lic.

Ah, so I did forget LaCamas lake-the best fishin' hole in the U.S. if you're up for catchin' giant turds. laugh I've never caught a trout in there (and I really don't fish for warmwater fish), even when I fished the lake just days after it was stocked with thousands of browns/rainbows. Wonder why, all that crap makes em go t*ts up as soon as they hit the water. eek frown
