The late run of Nisqually Chums are at the mouth of the river right now and a few of us are heading down there Saturday, and i was wondering if anyone has fished for them there before? Where's the nearest launch and what should i expect? Nets, crowds, lots of wind? Any info would be great.

I was up a bit higher yesterday afternoon and it was very slow. I heard they caught a few early in the morning, but not really any numbers. The nets go in Sunday at noon, until Wednesday at noon.

I know that a few are being caught out at the mouth but up higher it isnt real good!

When does the Nisqually run get goin'?

You guys have any luck? I might be going over in that area after Christmas because my aunt and uncle are coming up from California. My uncle fishes down there, but I don't know for what. He might be interested.

I went and checked out the Nisqually Delta launch on Monday. Boy was it foggy, couldn't see much past 20 feet from the launch. A couple of guys were putting in to do some duck hunting and I could hear gun shots in the distance.
Tuesday, I went back there hoping it was not foggy. It wasn't and I could see in all directions. To bad I did not take my boat because the water was GLASS (I would have liked to get out there just to make some waves). Did not see any one that had been fishing so I don't know if the fishing is still good. Maybe I will make plans this weekend to check the fishing out with my boat. F&H News says to fish the south end of Ketron Island for chums. Ketron is just north of the Nisqually mouth.
