A friend told me about some lakes along I-90. He said that he and his dad caught some kokane and bows out of it. He couldn't remember where they are. Does anybody know where it is?
Thanks

The only lakes that I know about along I-90 are in Eastern Washington. Like the little lakes by Easton and a little farther down toward Cle Elum. Or the ones in Ellensburg. Jim S laugh

I believe that Sammamish has kokanee and bows but if it was more towards Snoqualmie Pass There is a lake at the top of the pass on the right as you are heading east.

It's those two "K" lakes just after the top of the pass. One's right next to I-90 and the other is a little north off of one of the exits.

There is Little Keechelus, just east of the summit. I don't know what the names are of the little ponds by Easton. Some of them may be part of the Cle Elum River which travels along I-90 in that area. confused

There's also a lake tucked back in the trees on the right just past the onramp from highway 18 to eastbound I-90. Have never fished it but always see people parked at the gate on the highway 18 side.

Carl. The river in that area is the Yakima River. You cross the Cle Elum river but the road doesn't run along side of it. Jim S. rolleyes

The main kokanee lakes are keechelus and kachees.

These are the ones frequented by trollers. And.. within a couple of miles of each other.

The lake where he is talking about are the ones by HWY 18. Take the exit just after you pass it.
At the bottom of the ramp go right and up into a parking lot. Head east through the woods there is a trail if you can find it. And you will find the lake. I have not fished it since 1989. And that was with worms on a wedding ring. No bows but at the time big kokes! The biggest was 18". Any way that was 12 years ago.

T.M.- I talked to my friend again and told him what you said. He said that was it.
Thanks everybody for your help. I might talk my parents into going up there this weekend. My grandma lives in Yakima, and my parents might drive me out there if I beg enough. laugh
