I don't know about Sammish, but I think Squalicum lake off Mt. Baker highway near Demming has Tiger Muskies. Also, I know Green lake in Seattle has Tiger Muskies.

Tyler, if I remember correctly you can fish for muskies in Green Lake. They are small though. If you want some big boyz head to Mayfield Res. The state record for muskies was broken twice this last spring with fish from Mayfield. eek

Don't those fish have to be bigger that 36"? I don't think that they are big enough yet as they were only planted what, about three years ago. Maybe less. Jim S. cool

Carl is right, Mayfield has the largest tigers around. it was the first lake in this state to get planted, about 1989 or 1990 if i remember correctly. they were originally put in there to control the squawfish problem.

I head the tigers in Green lake were planted a couple of years ago, and they were 18" when they went in. I don't know how quickly they grow, but I've heard Green Lake's got a lot of stuff to eat, so maybe there's some big boys in there by now.

If I remember correctly, Green Lake was just planted last year with little Tigers. They won't be legal for another year or two. eek

The tiger muskies were only planted last spring, but apparently there's plenty of forage in Green Lake. I saw an angler showing one off at the nearby Albertson's store; it may well have been long enough to be legal. Nasty lookin' teeth.

I just recieved a E-Mail back form WDFW. Tiger Muskies were planted in Green Lake in 2000. They were 14 inches long and they grow about 1 inch per month, if the forage is good, and "1" fish per acre! The legal retention length is 36 inches, so they can't reach that length until the year 2002! That fish you saw was not legal. I'd release them to fight another day and another inch or so longer. They "DO NOT REPRODUCE", but they love to eat the slower scrap fish like, squaw and perch. "Limit your Kill, not your Catch".
