Sitting out in a canoe in January is crazy! But as I was stuck on the island all weekend I snuck out hoping for some chironomid action at the local year-round lake...Saturday despite many little silvers rising I hooked up only once, and promptly lost it...plenty of midges coming off for a bit there...as the wind blew me around in circles crazily and made a nice flat line impossible...Sunday the temps cooled and the wind was a little less gusty but only had one bite and missed it. Saw three chironomids. Never did see a fish that looked bigger than about 8"...I hope we get another shot of warm weather in a couple of weeks, because I really want to hook a fish on a dry fly in January!

By the way--why does the washingtonlakes.com link on the top of the washington lakes forum take me back to piscatorial pursuits?

fishkisser99,
Thats a good question. Bob set the page up, my guess is that since you are already on the WashingtonLakes.com forum the link is to get back to the forum list. A little redundant since there is a text link on the upper right side of the forum to take you back. And a little confusing as well. Maybe the link should open a new browser and take people to WashingtonLakes.com. That would work for the readers that are on Piscatorial Pursuits and looking at Washingtonlakes's forum, but if you are on Washingtonlakes.com already then you don't need another browser opening to take you where you already are. confused Maybe there shouldn't even be a hyperlink at all. frown
I think I'll go to bed now...

I'm sorry, did I suffer from lack of focus? I thought it sounded good as I was typing it...
The short version: the WashingtonLakes Forum banner should open a browser to WashingtonLakes.com. Maybe I can get Bob to change it. smile
