I have noticed that the show's on the tube i.e. in search of fly water, espn2 this morning, when they catch a fish they tend to hold them by squeezing their mid section and hold them to long ,and improperly out of the water! Does this bother any of you? I myself try to get them back in the water as soon as possible. I also understand that if the trout is not happy (thrashing about)you should hold him or her upside down to calm it! Just my two cents worth, and was wondering what you other reel fisherman (fly guy's) opps that gonna piss someone off , what do you think of this ?

I agree with you they handle those fish way to long. But the fish seem to swim off when they are done with them. If I don't have a net with me I try to take the hook out when they are in the water. But because I use hooks with the barb pinched down I often have LDR's.

You want to see a real bunch of yahoos, try and find the program "Dimestore Fishermen". I think it's on the Outdoor channel.

Those guys are real dummies. They are so bad that one of the BC boards had a big thread on them last year and when the thread was over, printed all of it off and mailed it, and a letter to the sponsors. One or two sponsors dropped them over it.

Zen , I watch OLN alot, but have never seen this show. On the fish swiming away allways, It's amazing how editing works~!! This morning after that show there was another and they were in georgia, and fishing a nice stream for rainbows. Nice fish etc etc, when they showed this 28" rainbow being caught and released, He kept it in the water which is good, but you could tell from the dark cloud coming from it's mouth it was bleeding. Does this mean the fish will die?

I've heard that not all bleeders die.

Dimestore fishermen are on the other Outdoor channel. I have it over on the eastside as channel 406. I think the one you're talking about comes in on channel 34.
