Is anybody going to head east for the early opener? I went with a couple friends last year to the lakes behind Potholes and knocked em' dead. I can't wait for the 1st to roll around to head back over,we hunted ducks over there all winter and we should have fished the open lakes instead, people were catching some nice trout, but the hunting sucked! Lets here about where you go and how you fish. Lets git it on!!!

I try to get that out of him. Where it's at. He didn't budge. If it's a secret, how come a lot of you are going. If it would warm up by the 1st of the month I would like to try my hand at some of those lakes over there. But with my luck it will probly be a white out. Just an old man complaining. Jim S. rolleyes

I tried last year on Burke, Dusty, and a few others in that area. Pretty slow the days I was there. Very cold and the few fish we did find were pretty small. If the weather cooperates, the lakes have a lot of potential.

I didn't do too well on Burke last year either. It's one I like to try as when it's hot.. it's hot.

I've also had less than stellar luck at Quincy and Burke Lake the last couple of openers. Dusty used to be great, but is in pretty dire straits right now.

Still, I have a sense of unrealistic faith that sooner or later, my family has got to hit it right on one of these lakes for the March opener.

I'll probably see some of you out there!.............unless I just go straight to Lake Lenore and hope for an early Lahontan bite.

Spokane paper sez that Corral Lake is producing some nice trout already, including one of
6#plus. I've never done very well there though, just doesen't seem to be a great fly
fishing lake. Maybe one of those you gotta know the secret before it produces. One secret I know of is Rainbow Powerbait on that lake. Youse guys can have it. laugh

Yes Corral is a very good trout lake in early March all the way through September. It seems like 5lbs is about the average we get. Saw a 10 and 2 12s last year. Doz sum big ass fsh. Alot of them are trips though. Still a blast. Hotlips and power eggs was the "sunday fishermans" pick. We tossed olive/black olive buggers, muddlers and white parachutes on a sinktip. Shallow in the spring, deep in the summer. Have yet to bow to the Leech.
