Anyone been out to lake Sammamish lately? I've heard the cutthroat are doing OK. Smallmouths are supposed to be there and biting if you know where to find them (I'm still learning...).

Anyway, I'm thinking of breaking out the canoe/trolling motor and fish finder and spending a few mornings or lunch breaks trolling some small spoons or plugs for those cutties.

Any tips would be appreciated!

(MikeC - I know you hit this lake a lot - any suggestions?)

You should be able to get some nice cutts now.I would fish with small flatfish in chrome or gold colors.Smallies will be deep, probably best fished with small rubber baits fished dead slow.Be careful to watch for and release big native kokanee . Small flies will sometimes work well if it's warm enough for a midge hatch.

I don't know about that lake but if this weather keeps up I may have to get my 5wt ready and go and fish the Snoqualmie forks. I need to get my nymphing down pat for the summer. Jim S. laugh
