Does anyone use fluorocarbon tippets? And if so, how do you use it? An entire leader section of fluorocarbon or a few feet of fluorocarbon tied to mono? Thanks for any info.

I use it just like regular tippet. Found that it held a knot well. It does not float like mono, so I still use mono for dries. Is it worth it? Can't really say, but I certainly didn't lose as many fish this past year. Just my $.02.

I like flurocarbon, but it seems like it is a lot weaker than mono. The advantage is, at least I have found, is that you can get away with using a little heavier leader, since the fish don't seem to spook as easily. I like to use about 2 - 3 feet as a tippet.

seaguar florocarbon you can buy in cabelas, it was line tested with a breaking strength to finish with the best of them. you can use it as a mainline. I orderd some out of cabelas. used to use berkely vanish but knot strength wouldd't hold so I threw it away. Ben

forocarbon isn't bad,I just don't think it is good enough to justify the added expense. The feeding zone for the average trout is 3 to 4 inches in front of them. If you get your offering in front of them with any reasonable size line they'll hit it. Flor. will not fish A dry period. It will sink it. It seems weaker because it is brittle. Agood place to use it would be Lanice and Lenore wheree the fish really get hammerd. Or the hatchery over by Soap lake

Where is Lanice? Is it by Lanephew? Just wondering. I have not had any problems with flurocarbon tippets and that is all I use. laugh

I just think that it costs too much. For the price of it I can buy three spools of regular tippit. I guess that I'm just to cheap. If you greased it would it float. Jim S. laugh

Lenice is not too far from Lenore kind of in the Ephreta Soap Lake area. If you have any tendancy tward masochism you have got to do Rocky Ford creek while you're in the area.Monster trout all wearing hard hats. Hope your ego is in good shape.

Dutchman, thanks I know I was just giving you the Bizz on spelling it that way. Been there done that. I'm working on this year to fish the not so known lakes. That is where the tippet breakers are! laugh
