Anyone have any fresh info on Lake Rufus Woods? I could only find some old reports. I'll probably be bank fishing it for awhile.

Feb/Mar are traditionally the best months on RWoods because natural foods are scarce so the big trips concentrate near the netpens rather than secttering all over the lake.. Rumor has it a new State Record Trip waz landed recently.
Fish the Netpens near Nespelem (don't forget your Indian permit, you will be checked).
Use standard slipsinker setup with one or one 1/2 oz weight and biiiiig gob of YELLOW
powerbait. Why yellow you say??? Because that's the color of the netpen food the big trips are there to suck up. wink Not my kinda fishing!

FishinfellaS,
Where can I get the permit? Is there bank access close to the net pens? how much is the Permit?
Thanks
Tyler

Hi Tyler, You can get your permit at Coulee Playland (the resort on Banks Lake)
or at the gas station in Nespelem. You have to turn left at the Indian Agency about 2 miles this side of Nespelem. Then go South passing one intersection where you take the left fork.
When you reach the river (or lake if you prefer) go till you see an abandoned front end loader
by a dirt road. Turn left again onto the dirt road takes you down to the lake below the net pens.
Catch a big fat one!

FishnfellaS, thanks for the info. I have wondered where one is suppose to obtain the permits to fish.

Say we otta hook up some time this summer. My dad has property on Blue Lake. I usually head that way for Memorial Day, 4th of July, and Labor Day weekend(s). cool

Might be possible,I fish Blue and/or Park every once in a while when I want to
Catch and Release a bunch and Dry Falls sometimes when I feel like catching big ones.
Drop me a line at:FishnfellaS@netscape.net. when you're headed this way. smile
