I am looking for a power cable for a Penn electric downrigger (part that stays with the downrigger). Please let me know if you have one.
Thanks, Dave

I believe Ollie Damon's Reel Repair in Portland is an authorized repair station for Penn Downriggers and as such will have the part you are looking for. They have a website, just google it.

Thanks for the tip John Q. I called them today and they said part was unavailable...i was able to find it at Penn but it seemed pricey at $91...was hoping someone might have one from a non working DR they would want to part with.
Thanks, Dave

I cut off the end of the terminal end of the original cable and put one male and one female bullet connector on the two appropriate wires. You can figure out which connectors go where by checking the continuity from the old connector that you removed to the wire ends where you cut the cable. I also marked the boat side terminal with a pocket knife so that I would know which of the four pins and sockets to use on that terminal. Both of my penns have been wired like that for about ten years now.

Hated those old style Cannon plugs & converted over to the old style Scotty Plugs.

Thanks Blackmouth and John Q - I did consider the bullet pin/receptacle option and may end up going that route. I am using the cord to hook up a pot puller that currently has a new scotty plug. I did consider changing over everything to the new scotty plug but decided not to do that......yet. I may go the method Blackmouth suggested on the pot puller if I come up empty on a Penn power cord.
Thanks again for your suggestions.

I had to replace the power cord on my penn downrigger, some ass hat tried to liberate it from the boat and cut the cord before he figured out he couldn't cut the lock and get it off the boat. John at Johns Sporting Goods in Everett converted it over to a scotty plug for me, no problems and fairly inexpensive.

As baddawg said John at John's Sporting Goods in Everett is a certified Penn and Scotty guy, he has tons of parts readily available. They are fairly expensive though, I bought the female adapter end from him a while back and I think it was like 60-80$ for the damn thing.

Baddawg - considered the scotty plug route, ultimately may have to do that. I did want to keep all the penn plugs, thanks for the info.
Mpizzle - I will check with John's.
Hook - I don't see a PM....please resend if you can.
THanks, Dave

I just wanted to tell you that I have a new Scotty plug. It was on a used Cannon dowrigger that I bought. I have Cannon plugs on my boat and would let you have it for $20.00 bucks, plus shipping. It's the end that's attached to the downrigger.

Hook - thanks for the offer, trying to avoid converting to scotty plugs.
