Powerbaiters got me cornered and kicking hell outa me....and hell....I ain't even the
enemy!!! Tell ya where the enemy is though.....WAY too much consumptive use of
fish resources. If the powerbaiters COULD release their catch safely, I'd never say a word, but
I still wouldn't call you a sportsman cause it's a damn SEX SCENT! Shootin Ducks in a
barrel isn't sporting either.
Back to the enemy consumptive and thoughtless use of the fish and our water.
We're back every year needin more and more. Bigger plants, More Jumbos, Triploids,
Surplus Salmon and Steelhead from hatcheries,oh, and we need a crack at those
river salmon smolts cause I think them little buggers can fight and I don't have enuff
rivers to fish, and on and on and on.
The people who run this state in Olympia are by and large NOT fishermen. Furthermore I know
many of them consider us slobbering, rednecked, Neanderthals always looking for freezer meat
and always at the REVENUE TROUGH for more money to raise fish.
That can be the LEAST of their priorities, so F&G budgets don't get enuff and it all goes to feeding
planters and fish for the hogs.
I know not all can flyfish. But 90% could. You ***** and moan that I'm overklilling this bait thing.
Why don't you get it? We can't go on forever providing you fish to eat with the money available.
DO THE RIGHT THING FOR A CHANGE to a fishing method that allows you to release fish at least
most of the time.

I fish with fly gear, spin gear, and the dreaded bait. I see abuses in all user groups. I think it is time you take break, step away from the computer, and take a nap.

Instead of spending all of your time on negativity, post something positive. Anybody can b@#$h, but few take action. I might suggest spending some time thinking postive thoughts.

I fished bait all last summer for salmon at Sekiu, releasing up to 40 salmon a day, all a bit tired, but still quite healthy. I have released 10 steelhead this year, all but one natives, all swam away just fine, and all caught on bait, salmon and steelhead eggs to be exact. Please don't cast you net of generalities over all bait fishermen.

Elitists caused me to step away from fly fishing. No group is better than another.
