Does the wdfw still plant catfish anywhere? Are there any waters that hold decent catfish around Vancouver/Battle Ground?
Thanks

Hi!

Sorry I have been swamped with fishing derby stuff.

I started the stocking program in Kress Lake about five years ago and some of our enforcement officers have seen them up to 15 lbs already!! We stock several hundred, the key being that they are stocked at 12"-18" to get them a good head start on growing.

There are some really beautiful fish in there.

Been trying to think of some other local areas that might be good cat lakes as well.

Let me know if you catch any and get pictures!!!!!

I'll second that, I'd love to get a picture of a 15 pound catfish on the front page. smile

Thank's Stacie. I'm going to try to get out for some cats as soon as the water warms a bit.
Mike, I'll try to get you a picture, but first I've got to catch the fish, so don't get your hopes up. How does a 5 pounder sound. That's probably more like what I'll be catching. laugh

By the way, where exactly is Kress lake. I was on the lake index and it said by I-5 and Kalama River Road. Are there any maps that I might be able to find the lake on? Could someone tell me?
Thanks

Fishboy,

You might try http://www.mapquest.com/ to find Kress Lake.

FB5, Kress is really easy to find! You can see I-5 from the lake. Take Kalama River Rd. exit, go east, take first left, and you are there. cool
