Are you going to go east of the mountains or stay on the west side for the trout opener.

Just taking a poll.

Feel free to let all of us all know what lake (fiasco) you will be participating in. laugh

I own property on lake Tanwax, down by Mt. Rainier, but they made it year round in the early 90's and it's not the same anymore. I've been going to Jameson for the opener ever since. Their is lots of fish, lots of room to fish and camp and you can use any method known to man to catch them, contrary to some opinions on this board. wink

I fished Tanwax when I was a kid with Triple Teasers and Wedding Bands and caught lots of trout but haven't been there in 10 years so I have know idea how the fishings been in well.....10 years. So maybe you can tell me. Do they still rent boats? Can you launch a 20ft Arima? How's the fishing? Any info is greatly appreciated. Would be like reliving childhood memories.

I'm planning on going out to Sliver Lake (Pierce Co)we have been going out the for the last four years. We have a spot reserved for our trailer right on the lake. We go out early on Friday set up and get ready for the rest of Pierce Co to get there. It's really entertaining better than TV. Fishing is usally good if you don't mind zig zagging trough all the boats out there. eek

I will stay home on opening day. It's safer that way.
Give it a week and all the crowds will be gone and then I can go to my favorite lake. Jim s. laugh

If I don't stay home I'll probably head to RockyFord. The crowds usually clear out during opening day.

I'm scheduled to work but if I get off I will take my boys to our annual Opening Day lake, Pine Lake. There we will fish with POWER BAIT and also do a bit of the troll and dodge (dodge the other boaters, that is). All good fun. This is about the only day of the year I fish with POWER BAIT. After that it's back to trolling. Set the riggers, lean back in the skipper's seat and wait for the fish. How lazy can you get? It's like plunking from a boat. laugh

i will be fishing powerbait on the opener too. im not afraid to admit it. i never tried it before so i figure the opener would be a good time to check it out...see how it works, then i'll go back to trolling my favorite triple teaser for a while.

Hey Wooley, yes they still rent boats at Rainbow Resort, yes you can launch a 20 footer at the state launch and yes Triple Teasers and Dick Nites in red and white still catch as many fish as always. I saw that it's not open year round anymore, so maybe I'll head down to mow the grass, turn on the water and power and try my luck. This early in the year the skiers and jetskiers won't be bad so maybe you can fish it without getting run off the lake! mad The state should really enforce the ski hours.

nbdog, a little secret.....troll that little frog flatfish in front of the houses. Don't bother with the south end of the lake. You will score big time!

For the record, I will be venturing out to Deer Lake on Whidbey Is. It rocks!! If you have never been check it out. Opening day crowd consists of about a dozen boats and two dozen fisherman and they all get their limit by 0800 so you have the lake to yourself the rest of the day. cool

Angle Lake pumped out 30 fish in about 2 hours on green/rainbow hotshots, superdupers, triple teasers, and dick nights. Spotcasting small silver bodied hometied streamers on rising fish worked well to. Lots of fun on the long rod. We also hooked 22 on friday at Fenwick the same way. So if you feel like keepin it local... We'll probably skip opening weekend fore I feel as though i may initiate the first case of trolling rage. Boat controll people!

Geeeeezzzz, it looks like they (WDFW) finally stocked Angle. The kind of day FFF had there is the way it is suppose to be after a good boost of fish. Maybe I will go there after the hurricane passes. laugh

Vance Creek ponds in Elma. They release excess hatchery steelhead and some broodstock in there. Taking the two boys out for a day of trolling. Might use some POWER BAIT.

My little girl and I will out on Bay Lake throwing flies... If it's anything like last year, we were home by 7:30! Went out the next morning for a little C & R and killed 'em.
