I'm taking the day off Thurs to take my little bro (big brothers of king county program) fishing as this is his spring break.
I've been in crunch mode at work for too long and really need to get out and do some fishing.
So heres the tentative plan: Pack up the canoe, elec trolling motor, fish finder, bug rod, spinning rod and not much else, then: Stay Wed night at Fish Lake Hit Fish Lake for the morning bite Head to Dry Falls for a couple hours Hit my honey hole at rocky ford then wrap up at a 'secret' lake during the evening before heading home.
I know I should concentrate on 1 or 2 areas tops, but I just have to get it out of my system!!
Does this sound like a good plan? Should I plan to hit some other water than I noted here while I'm over there??
Thanks!

If your talking Fish lake near Lake Wenetchee, you should catch a ton of fish. I was there on the 11th -12th and hammered the rainbows. We brought home 9 and released 25-30 in 2hrs on Thur. night and 2hrs Fri. morn. We did best trolling blue pirate f4 flatfish and perch, frog colored #70 hotshots. We caught 3 fish under 10" but the rest were 13-16". The far end of the lake was best but we caught em' everywhere. Just remember you can only keep 2 fish over 15" per person per day, and the state just planted all the bigger trout so they have white meat and don't taste nearly as good as the fish that have been in the lake a couple months. Have a great time bud!

Thanks HPB! How was the wind? Looks like we could have some stormy weather Thurs. That would suck.
Mike, good thought. We've actually dealt with that issue a few times. We haven't been fishing together for a while (6mo or so) so he's pretty excited to get out there and try again. Our next planned trip is for opening day and he's been excited about that since last year, when he had to miss out for a camp out with the scouts. He asked his troop leader to move the camp out this year so it did not conflict with opening day.
I'll take some pics and post a report when I get back.

I probably shouldn't tell you this, but the water was like glass both days. It was one of the few times I've been there with little to no wind. I'm going back on Fri. morn, but I doubt my luck with the wind will hold out.

Well we had a great time! Ending up spending most of the time at fish lake (until the winds picked up and my trolling motor battery ran down fighting it).
Started out slow, but picked up and we ended up with one of our greatest outings together. Josh caught the most, but I ended up with the biggest. A nice triploid of about 18 fat inches. The others ranged 13 to 16 inces with maybe 2 in the 12 inch range. We took the 4 home that we caught while using bait. A few more days of warm weather and the lake should be red hot. I'll bet this weekend would be outstanding.
We also hit Rocky Ford for a few minutes. Not a pretty sight. The water way very low, and most of the fish were dark and spawning. I even saw sever dead ones that either died after spawning, or were played to death by 'sport fisherman' targething them on the redds.
We did find a few spots where the fish looked brighter on not on redds, so we wet the line a little using mostly wooly bugger type flies. Our hooked up to landed ratio could have been better, but we had fun.
We didn't have time for my 'secret lake', dry falls, or anything else. We'll save that for next time...

Mike, I'll have pics hopefully soon when I turn in my disposable camera. But that pic that Dogfish (Andy) posted will look much better on the front page. Josh (my little brother) is 15 and his fish are not quite that big. But I'll send them in anyway for your pictures section.

Hey Phish, I'm glad to hear you guys had fun. I went back over to Fish lake today 19th. it was real calm and sunny this morning and I think that put the fish off the bite. We ended up bringing 3 home but could have kept our limit,it just took longer today to figure out the hot ticket. We ended up trolling wooley buggers,in browns and blacks. No 18"ers here but some nice 12-15" trout.
