This is interesting ........... kinda. The link is to a ranking of state debt and how bad off they are. Take a guess as to where WA falls in line and then take a peek. It surprised me as I thought in the top 15 someplace with CA leading. Wrong!

Well the link does not work. Do Daily Beast, hit US News, and you will see the article on state debt.

But did you notice that the WA narrative talked about how the state just implemented a tax on candy and such that was going to bring in millions?

That suggests to me that the article is a bit dated.

I was surprised that WA ranked so "well"; i was sure we'd be in the Top 10, at least.

Even if left in place, I don't think the candy tax would have generated anywhere near the revenue they were projecting. We're probably not hugely worse off now than we were at the time the article was written. That said, for the condition we are in not to qualify us for a spot in the top 15 or so says a lot about just how bad things are everywhere.
