Anyone want to share some info on Bank fishing Wapato or are there better options in the Chelan area? I will be there on Memorial Day weekend and want to wet a line. Thanks.

Wapato and Roses are both near Chelan. They both have good fishing for trout and some spiny rays.Dry lake is also near there, but is a better bet for bass and perch than trout. Chelan itself has given up a few trout to me in years past ,but not as good as the others for easy fishing.

As the weather starts to warm up in the next few weeks... be on the lookout for rattlers, they could ruin your day in a hurry! frown

Wapato is great for catching trout. They also rent boats at the small resort on the lake. It is pretty cheap to rent the boats - they are just small aluminum boats with electric motors. In the afternoon Wapato can get really windy. Sometimes I will just call the resort (Kamei Resort 509-687-3690) to check to see how windy that lake is, rather than drive out there.

Antilon is another good lake. I've caught German Browns on it in the past, but over Memorial Day there will probably be a lot of campers and teenage partiers out there, so I would stick to Wapato.

I will be there Memorial Day weekend also. I am probably going to still fish with power bait. If you do rent a boat, trolling works really well with some spinners, a wedding ring and some white corn from the supermarket.

Good luck and have fun smile

Anyone been to Roses lake? Is there a nice boat launch? What is the best approach - still fishing vs. trolling? It is a beautiful lake, always like glass. I have been wanting to try it for a while, but I don't know much about the lake. I don't even know if it has trout planeted in it. I have heard that it has great ice fishing, but that's about it.

Roses has a decent, single ramp with a big dirt access area. I have always done better at Roses while stillfishing, with all the standard baits.

Thanks for the replies, all good info. If you're in the neighborhood memorial weekend stop by and say Hi. I drive a dark green Toyota T100 Extra Cab 4x4 with matching canopy.
