Hi, I am Fairly new to this are... (kitsap Penninsula. I am looking for a few good places to fish. You know, the places that arn't swamped to the top with other fisherman. I have only fished Kitsap lake and Long lake, and all I have ever cought in this state are a whole 5 rainbows, and 1 cutthrout. What I am looking for is a place that I can go to enjoy, with out having 8 people right next to me, and a place I can take my daughter to, so she can catch some fish as well. Also, If anyone knows of a good place to catch a some good Bluegills, and a nice amount of Crappies. I am all ears! Thanks alot guys.

Haven't fished the Kitsap area much so I can't give you much help except to say read the reports for Kitsap and see which lakes look interesting. Half the fun is in the exploring! Good luck.

For some nice, less crowded trout fishing try Wildcat Lake or Horseshoe Lake. Mason Lake hhas some good Perch fishing that my daughters really enjoyed last year if you have a boat. You need a boat there as the best perch fishing was right in front of the Simpson Timber Company Private campground.

Head out to Hansville,and try Buck Lake. there isn't much for spiny rays it's mostly trout. It's a fairly small lake that is totally undeveloped,except for a small county park and a really old delapedated shack on one side. I used to catch alot of fish from the small dirt boat launch,but a small boat will be better. It's pretty much overlooked by most people,except the locals.

I also had alot of success casting small spinners and spoons along the shoreline. We always tried for bass but never caught any,we couldn't get past all the rainbows and cuttthroat.

Another good bet is to head across the Hood Canal bridge. Tarboo, Sandy Shore and Teal lakes are all over there. Again... fairly small lakes with no houses or powerboaters to bother you. Good luck!

UMRules is right, Mason does have a lot of perch, as well as bass. They also fish for kokanee. Be advised that as the weather warms up, Mason can be very busy with jet skis, water skiers and others. It's a big lake and the Simpson area is at the opposite end of the lake from the county boat launch. Not a pretty launch and the park is very small, no camping. Another option would be Spencer Lake. It has some nice fish, but also has the boat traffic as it warms up. Of course, the way the spring is going, "warming up" seems like a long ways away. We'll be up at Mason for the weekend starting Friday.

Hey, Thanks alot guys. I looked at all these places on the map, and they all look promising. I plan on making it to each and everyone of them lakes. I plan on checking each of them out in the several upcoming weekends......(providing I can get the wife to let me go, that often!)
