No FB for me either Sol Duc...mainly because every time I see my sister she tells me that so and so (usually some dumbass from HS that I don't want to ever see, talk to, or think about ever again) wants to "get in touch with me". No thanks. I do use text messaging however...but usually only to coordinate fishing trips, get fishing reports, or send fish pictures to my friends that are working at the time.... Ike

I'll admit I'm on facebook. The reason I like it as I can keep closer contact with my family that is spread out and see recent pics of the kids - Son in Ohio, Granddaughter in Texas, nieces, nephews, cousins & friends in Thurston, Clallam, Whatcom, WallaWalla, Eugene, Pullman, Montana, Maine, Arizona, Cameroon West Africa and the list goes on. I've turned down lots of requests to be 'friends'. Everybody I'm connected with I really care about. I like it for that reason. I just spent 10 minutes IMing with my 15 yr old Granddaughter about the White Stripes, her favorite band, breaking up. She wasn't aware of Jack White's other projects. Something we may not have connected about without it. At 65 yrs. old, I enjoy any communication with her and the rest of my extended crew as my time is short.....

i'm a bigger jerk on FB than i am over here. I can't believe that for a second. I signed up for FB to push our chapters agenda and immediately got contacted by people from HS and about 25 relatives, finally turned everything off when I got the umpteenth request to do this or that for somebodies FB farm stuff. Why would anyone get on there to do farm [censored]? Not a fan, don't FB me,ever! Fishy

haha Obviously oblivious to the workings of the computer.... "uninstalled" facebook, huh? I first got my account in College when it first came out, it was initially made as a wide area network for College kids to meet each other and communicate within the campus, then it went global and crapped its pants... still a great place to meed single ladies though!

I have FB, but it is causing me some problems so I may end up getting off of it. I think it is great to see the pictures from my friends and family and I really enjoy that. The problem I have is when someone sends me a friend request, and I really have no interest in their BS, so I don't become their FB friend.
I ran into two people in one week (last week) who I did not approve of as a friend. First was a clown from high school who I barely remember (I didn't recognize his last name when the request came through). I thought "why would I care what this guy is up to" and then I ran into him at a gas station. He said "I saw you on Facebook" then looked forlornly at the ground.
Then last Friday I was approached by a girl, I didn't even know who she was, but she new me somehow. She just blatantly asked me why I denied her on FB (twice), and I said "I don't know you.". That was (apparently) very offensive to her, and I generally try to be a well respected man about town.
FB is adding a whole other dimension to society, and it may not work for me and how I prefer to treat people or create my network.
