It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

I can't believe we'd even consider having a foreign-owned company building our tankers.............especially when the Frogs can't get behind us ANY time our military goes into action.

Good for Boeing.

This is great. I don't want Europe building our military stuff. Those tax-payer funded jobs belong here.

Thank you Patty Murray!! Of course this does nothing to decrease the pressure on our rivers.

How many years did this take to award? I just love government contracting. Congress will probably shut them down next week.

This should improve the fishing as those Boeing machinists and others will be busy working weekdays and overtime on weekends. Yea!

No more Californicators needed Hank; they already moved up here when Boeing bought McDonnel-Douglas.

Doesn't matter either way, they will surely strike once production starts and there will be plenty of extra bodies on the water until they settle their "greivences". . ... .. .

There will be jobs in California and Kansas too. If you are from Alabama you are upset that EADS didn't win.

Boeing wins in upset

This shouldn't be about protecting WA jobs. This should have been about from the beginning, building US military equipment in the United States by US companies. The number one job of the US gov't. is national defense, beyond any other task. The most reliable way to do that over the long term is to have US companies that are qualified to build the best military equipment available on the planet. Entertaining alternatives seems almost traitorous.

By initially awarding the contract to build a USAF tanker to a foreign contractor only proves how powerful special interest money really is.
WTF were they thinking, that's it's good business to use foreign vendors to equipped the US military?

It would have been a cryin' shame if our top-line fighters were relegated to suckling from a Frenchie Airbus !

I'd fire and deport the SOB who even suggested it in the first place...and if anyone seconded the motion.....they'd be gone too!
