I pass by this small 5 acre lake all the time and want to fish it but there are no trespassing signs posted off of Petrovisky. Can anyone provide info on how to access this lake?

you can park on the dirt trail that borders petrovisky and look for the opening in the trees for the only trail that leads down to the lake. this is the only access point as the rest of the shoreline is covered in thick brush. there is an old tree that lies in the water that you can walk on about 20 feet out to clear the brush and fish from there. it is very slippery and dangerous when it is wet so be careful. there is only room for about 2 people out there unless you bring a float tube. it is very snaggy and also deep. it is too muddy to wade the shoreline.

peterson has small rainbows and cutts (6-7" average) and largemouth bass (very small also). most of the trout i have caught have been on 1/16 oz yellow curltail jigs and i get the occasional bass that way. rapalas and spinners work sometimes but stick to small hardware. bait works too of course but keep in mind this is a very small lake and C&R would be the best way to preserve what few fish this lake supports.

there is lots of garbage and beer bottles and junk on the trail, just to let you know, this is a very urban lake. i like to fish there a couple times a month (i live close and the fish like to bite my jigs), and there is usually someone there on the weekends, but during the week you have the lake to yourself (unless im there )

if you have a boat and want to get into some big fish you should fish either shadow or spring lakes, both are a few minutes drive from peterson and offer much more in numbers and size if you want to bring some decent fish home for dinner.

Cool thanks! C&R is the way to go anyways, especially in a smaller ecosystem like this one. It's too bad about all the garbage but I guess what do you expect with it being next to the road.
