I've been fishing this lake pretty regularly for the last year, and its been a favorite of mine. Most of the locals refuse to believe much can be caught there, but I disagree.
The trout there are beautiful. There are many natural trout, but the majority is stocked. Kokanee are present, and very beautiful as I've caught up to 13 inch Kokanee in here. Rainbows and a few cutthroat are also in here, the majority being Rainbow and Kokanee.
Besides trout, a few of which do carry over, you can also catch bullhead, largemouth bass, perch, crappie, scullpin, and there are rumors of huge channel catfish lurking in the deeper waters to.
The trout are fairly easy to catch off the dock, bobbers work best. I've tried bottom fishing, but only super long (30 foot sometimes) leaders work well with bottom fishing, as this small lake does reach 100 feet in some areas.
When you find the depth kokanee are at, you will usually limit out within an hour or so. I cannot figure out why you can catch kokanee so easily at one depth, but so hard at others, while rainbows vary so often.
The bass are all over the place, mostly near the shore. Same with the perch. In the back is a very loggy area. If you follow the path around the lake, you cant miss it. It looks like a completely seperate pool even. I've seen 5 pound plus bass taken from that pool, and ive seen large bass lurking in the shallows near the docks as well.
Well, I'd like to see more honest fisherman out there, as some of the people that come out have no problems expressing their moods with vulgarity. So whoever read this, please feel obligated, or inclined even, to take a peek at this lake. If you are looking for beauty and quantity, it sure is a nice place to try.
