Loc: Tacoma Wa,
Hello

I'm looking for a new lake close to home.
I live in north tacoma. I'm thinking I need a lake over by gig harbor.

How about some suggestions.
Warm water lake, small in size big in bass.
with not a lot of trafic.

THANKS

Well if you haven't fished Spencer Lake then i'd give it a shot. Lots of largmouth and a ton of rainbows that bite all day every day all year long. One day in the middle of the summer me and 2 buddies hooked 64 rainbows in 6 hours. They hit everything that day. Even a 2" orange spin-n-glow on the surface. Don't tell anyone though.

Try Tanwax...it may be a bit farther than you want to drive, but good warmwater lake. Bass, perch crappie in good numbers with some bass up around 5-6lbs. It's about 170 acres with a good launch. There is a time limit for water and jet skiers,I think it's closed to them before 8am and after 5pm. The lake is fairly developed, but has a alot of cover on the lake and has a slough that runs about 1/2 mile off the lake, and is prime bass habitat. I think it lends itself more to smaller boats but I see a few Ranger's and Skeeter's out there.

Give it a try one day, I think you'll like it. smile

Basser,

Have you heard of Jackson Lake on the Key Peninsula? I fish it quite often- some biggins in this lake. Need a non-motorize craft to fish it, but they really dig poppers. The locals fish nightcrawlers w/o weight and do well. If you need directions, give me a buzz back.

A little further to drive but Trails end lake in Mason County is really nice. Bay lake by Penrose State Park is allow nice. It is VERY small and has lots of weeds but if you stay on top with POP gear you can get some nice bass and rainbows.

Good luck..
