I am probably going to go fishing tomorrow and Friday, but I cannot decide on a lake. I know trout fishing isn't doing to well right now because it is so warm out, but I still want to try. I could go to lake washington for sockeye, but I really do NOT want to deal with the crowds.

Does anyone have any advice on a lake to go to that the trout fishing is still doing ok, isn't more than 1-2 hours from Renton, and has a decent boat launch?

Thanks smile
Jessica

In the past, I took the chair at the east end of Ski Acres on Snoqualmie Pass, up to the top and wandered the logging roads fishing some small lakes. They keep the chair open for mountain bikers, don't remember the cost. There are some rather nice fish in the small lakes. Just a thought. It's kind of interesting and unique. You can do the same this up at Crystal. Obviously, the lakes should be cooler.

how big is your boat... or should I ask how small is your boat, and is it oars or a motor?

If it's a cartopper and oars or an electric I have two good suggestions for you. One is fly fishing only and the other only has fish size restrictions in place, besides being a no gas motor lake.

I have a 15' Smokercraft with two gas motors...a 4-stroke 25hp and a 4hp Yamaha. Looking to get an electric, but probably not until next year.

can't give any suggestions as the lakes I had in mind had motor restrictions. Sorry.

I suggest Spencer lake out in Mason county, near shelton. It's about an hour drive but well worth it. For some reason the warmer this lake gets, the better the trout fishing is. We've had numerous days where we hooked more than 30 fish between 2 people. One paticular day in late july a buddy and me got 44 fish to the boat, lost count of how many almost made it to the boat. And they aren't all 8". Lots of 12-14"ers. Continuous action should be the name of this lake. Email me if you want the "how to" and directions.
