im helping a friend move this sunday to pasco and i see that the snake runs into the columbia in that area. i will have a few hours sunday evening to check out the river. ive never been to this area before so i have a few questions. has anyone fished this area? and would it be worth fishing? im not looking for anyones secret hole, im just wondering if this is a productive area, also is there decent access to hike the bank, or should i leave the rod at home?

Hey Stifler,

Smallies! Are ya' bringin' a boat?
If so, troll between 12-18 ft,
and use a super rooster tail.
I prefer red! Nice channel cats
in the snake too! cool

Good Luck!

Ken

thanks for the info guys!! i plunked the yakima river for a few hours this evening and got 2 small channel cats. i talked to a guy down at the river and he told me that the smallmouth are all over the lower snake right now, i think i may head back there with a boat next weekend if the sound doesnt pick up for salmon by then. it is a long drive to get over there, 4 hours one way makes for a very long day trip.
