Damn zombies don't deserve their own day!
In any case, I was a little late in celebrating Happy Zombie Day, In fact, I didn't get around to celebrating until now.
Here's how to celebrate Happy Zombie Day:
Grab your M1A and ponder how to make it a *better* zombie gun. She's looks nice, but she's missing something....
Ah yes! I got it! She *NEEDS* a Harris Bipod!
But how to do that?
The cheap way out is to plug the gas/vent/grenade launcher hole that sits above the upper sling mount. Not a big fan of that, as how can I possibly shoot my grenades if I plug that hole with a Harris BiPod stud? Hmmmm.
I know! Let's install our own stud! Flip over to the M1A to see what you have to work with.....
Place your Harris Bipod on the stock and find the *happy* place for the bipod to sit that still won't interfere with the existing fused sling mount. Mark your middle point and flip the gun back over. Use a chalk line to mark out the center of the gun and remark your hole. Use a 5/16 drill bit and drill a nice hole in that pristine M1A! Don't mess her up!
If you measured twice, and drilled once, the end result will look something like this:
Nice!
Now, install the Harris BiPod. Schwing! The retracted legs don't even interfere with the sling mount! Awesome!
Finally, open up the legs on the bipod and see how she fits!
I'm now set to take those nice looooong resting shots at the neighborhood zombies!
That is how I celebrated Happy Zombie Day!
