Kind of quiet this morning. Everyone must be out pretending to be good people.

Easter is a good time to remember why exactly we celebrate Easter in the first place.

It is not because Jesus is risen.

It is because our Pagan ancestors (if you are of Northern European ancestry) had a spring celebration of spring fertility and renewal. The reason we now celebrate Easter as a Christian holiday is because Christian missionaries needed a reason to combine Christian sorrow and self-loathing with Pagan merriment and happiness.

And such, we have Easter. Where eggs, fertility and bunny rabbits for some reason have to do with some Jew's supposed resurrection in the middle-east.

THIS is the answer?

Quote:
Anglo-Saxon mythology says Eostara changed her pet bird into a rabbit to entertain a group of children, and the rabbit laid brightly coloured eggs for them.

It is all so crystal clear now!!!!

I restate my previous question: Since when does a fukk!ng rabbit (a mammal) lay an egg (a clearly ornithological and reptilian trait)?

I considered that freak of nature, it is hardly considered a mammal. It has the body of a beaver, the bill of a bird, and a "stinger" or barb capable of imparting a lethal toxic chemical.... AND it lays eggs..... ok so now I fully understand, the platypus IS the Easter Bunny, I get it now.

So lemme get this straight? You are comparing a rabbit to a platypus.... yes yes, clearly they are quite similar.... applause

Still not buyin' it dood.

I'm not sure what kind of peanut butter I like more. Some days I like crunchy but more often than not, creamy. Once in a while I like Adams, which falls into the creamy category, but is somewhat different than say Jif.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Agreed.

Creamy peanut butter most of the time.............but when I want crunchy, it has to be crunchy.

So we keep both in the pantry.

With Adams you have to make sure you mix it first because the oil likes to sit at the top of the jar.

The history of the peanut. We need a day to appreciate its past.

I did...I went fishing, like every Easter.

Didn't find any Easter eggs, but the springer I caught was full of them, even if they were a bit on the teeny tiny side.

Fish on...
