Took a trip to Banks lake Sat.
Got to the lake about 1:pm and the lake was glass. Got out on the water and a slight wind started.
Moved up the lake to a quiet bay out of the wind. My son and I started to fish. As I felt the bite of the fish fish. I also felt the wind coming up..
Landed the fish then scrabled to start a motor to keep from getting pushed into the rock. Then pulling up ancor. Then it really started to blow.
Well we were across from steamboat rock and the truck was at coulee city.
We headed out with the wind coming straight at at us. About 2 miles up the we saw another boat making his way back to coulee. I desided to stay close to them so that if either one of us
had a problem the other would be there to lend a hand.
I was watching the other boat when all of a sudden the wind started coming from behind us even harder. And the other boat was being chased down by a wind guts that was picking water up off the lake.
The wind the shifted again. Now coming from the side. With the hit of each wave we were being showered with water. About 2 miles out from Coulee city the wind then shifted to the back of us again. And we rode the wave into the launch.
I took some pics of what Banks looked like coming back in. Note all the dust.
What a wild ride.
