FYI - If you just happened to look at the Northwest Weekend section of the 8/22 Seattle Times, "Canoe Fishing", you will note that the author suggests "...cast rappla or treble hooked spinners" in the Crab Creek Rec. Area (Nunnally, Merry, Lenice.

You might want to contact them and suggest they read the regs before printing articles.

We do have to "protect" what little quality waters exist in this state!

I checked out the article at their on-line site and they had added the following banner line:

Information in this article, originally published August 22, was corrected August 24. A previous version of this story included some recommendations contrary to state fishing regulations. The article suggested using minnows or treble-hooked spinners when fishing Nunnally, Merry and Lenice lakes in Grant County. Those lakes fall under state Department of Fish and Wildlife “selective gear rules” that allow only unscented artificial flies or lures with one barbless single hook and no bait

Thanks for the response. I received an email from the Sea Times on Friday so I knew the correction was coming. FYI: It was on the second page of the first section under "Corrections". Doubt many people read that protion of the paper.

Arrrgh I hate people who publicize that kind of crap. Think of some kid taking his dads canoe out and having everything taken from him, plus a fat ticket to his dad, because he read the paper and it told him to go there. STUPID STUPID STUPID authors sometimes.

Hey I'm going to try out flyfishing again this weekend. Any ideas on flies for the lakes lately? I have NO idea what I'm doing, so if you want front row entertainment, be at deep lake. I'm probably going to put on a chronomid since some guy told me to at GI Joes (Nice guy, very informational and if you read this site then THANK YOU!) ans since I dont have any strick indicaters.... A lil BOBBER!!! laugh
