Bring that to a party = instant rockstar (at least amongst the men).
Trying to think of the proper beer pairing for that monstrosity.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

I came home from work last summer and found a plain brown box on my porch. When I opened it, the Bacon Explosion was nestled in the wrapping. No hint as to who sent it but that didn't stop me from firing up the bbq and getting that pile of pleasure cooking. It was everything you would hope for in a bacon-wrapped sausage delight. The flavor made me weak in the knees. Plus I got a bumper sitcker with it! We later found out my wife's sister sent it. She is now on the top of my favorite in-law list. If you like bacon and you like sausage, you owe it to yourself to order at least one. I get wet just thinking about it.

Reminds of an old blues song. Can't remember the name of it but he starts out describing a 22 pound turkey dinner with corn bread, gravy, the works. The reason he's got the blues is the doc now has him eating only carrots and celery.

While I know the hubby would enjoy such an indulgence, I like him enough to want to keep him alive as long as possible, so he won't be getting one of those. Avoid food avoidance...if you want it eat it. I eat healthy 80%+ of the time the other 20ish % its all fair game, I am ordering that...as soon as I put some distance between my 8 krispie creams, and 5K calorie meal from burgerville from the past weekend. the occasional free meal of whatever you want will have 0 effect on overall body compostiion...

That, and there is also the school of thought that the human body has evolved to operate on animal fats and not carbohydrates. A la Dr. Gary Taubes "Good Calories, Bad Calories" and "Why we Get Fat", or "Primal Blueprint" by Mark Sisson.

A la Dr. Gary Taubes "Good Calories, Bad Calories" and "Why we Get Fat", or "Primal Blueprint" by Mark Sisson. Good calories bad calories? are you serious? Your body has evolved to digest and process your mothers milk and everything else you shove down your throat. Taubes and Sisson are nutrional idiots that convientaly ignore current research that shows your body operates exactly the same no matter the balance of carbs, proteins and fat you give it. The only thing that matters is calories (units of energy ) in vs. calories out, assuming the majority of the diet is coming from whole food sources.

your body operates exactly the same no matter the balance of carbs, proteins and fat you give it Not sure where you arrived at that conclusion, but it's BS. If I consume 45 grams of carbs from rice or a banana, my blood sugar will rised to 250 in a hour. If I consume 45 grams of carbs from whole wheat bread or an apple, my blood sugar will rise to 150 in that same time frame. And if you think there is no difference in how the body uses different fats, you be even more wrong, just like most doctors were and some still are. I am going to go KK on you and cut and paste, its a low road but eyes need opening. GI and Obesity - Slim Chance For Correlation A systematic review of human intervention studies comparing the effects of high and low-GI foods or diets arrived at the following results [13]: • In a total of 31 short-term studies, low-GI foods were associated with greater satiety or reduced hunger in 15 studies, whereas reduced satiety or no differences were seen in 16 other studies. • Low-GI foods reduced ad libitum food intake in 7 studies, but not in 8 other studies. In 20 longer-term studies ( • An exhaustive assessment of these human intervention trials found no significant difference in the average weight loss between low and high GI diets. in conclusion, the current body of research evidence does not indicate that low-GI foods are superior to high-GI foods in regard to treating obesity. More recently, Raatz and colleagues conducted a parallel-design, randomized 12-week controlled feeding trial, testing the effect of GI and GL on weight loss [14]. The controlled period was followed by a 24-week "free living" phase, in which subjects were instructed to continue their respective dietary treatments outside of lab-supervised conditions. Manipulation of GI and GL failed to make a dent in both experimental phases. As a result of the 36-week trial, the researchers conclude: "In summary, lowering the glycemic load and glycemic index of weight reduction diets does not provide any added benefit to energy restriction in promoting weight loss in obese subjects."

all I am going to say about fats is you are getting more than you need...regardless of how your body processes them.

If any of you are going to eat that crap, you'll need one of these for your plate and some of these and these for after dinner. You might have to dig into this to pay for the ingredients. You forgot to mention one of these. I am pretty sure I would die if I tried to eat that bacon weavy thing. Die happy mind you, but die just the same.

You're previous post deal with the glycemic index AND WEIGHT LOSS, yet it does nothing to prove your point that shows your body operates exactly the same no matter the balance of carbs, proteins and fat you give it. You're wrong grasshopper. Elevated levels of blood glucose leads to weight gain, diabetes and eventual tissue damage. High glycemic foods cause a spike in said blood glucose. It's a proven fact. It's not just a well accepted scientific observation, it's also a personal observation. Millions of diabetics know this, why don't you? Eating too many carbs is what makes a person fat. http://www.scienceofhealthindex.com/ktaylor-reports/LowFatDietsDontWork.pdf Strong response disregarding posted clinical studies proving the opposite of what your saying...I'll keep staying trim eating lots of carbs even right before bed (carb ferry hasnt found my house yet). I stopped reading your above link when the author said eating a potato is the same or worse as 10 tsp. of sugar, I dont read nutrional wishful mythology. Aunty something to learn about - de novo lipogenesis (the metabolic pathway where carbs are converted to fat) is an extremely inefficient one, and requires massive amounts of carbs consumed for consecutive days during hypercaloric conditions for any measurable DNL to occur. This is even in the absence of exercise, among overweight/deconditioned individuals. This brings us back to total caloric balance being the master dictator of whether net fat gain occurs over time - or not. Leaving thread to go eat carbs.
