Sorry that I have been so absent. We had some real crunch projects going on and it got really crazy around here. I am back to a point where I can start reading everyone's posts again and helping out where ever anyone needs me too!

LOVE the new look and feel of the forum! Too cool!! laugh

welcome back I have a ? for you. Hopefully this is in your area. Lake Scanewa I hear their catching coho's . How are these usually fished for in this lake. How big of a lake is it. How are the launches. should I take my small 12 footer or the 22 foot alumaweld.

You're in luck if you're going to Scanewa. Right now it is the best coho fishing on the Columbia River.

Scanewa is 610 acres. Either of your boats will be fine. There are two parks available but the campground park is closed October to May 1. I believe people are using the day use boat launch but not sure.

A recent check was 86 boat anglers with 66 coho.

Anglers are trolling with salmon plugs... very little bait is being used.

It's funny that you ask about this lake because I was going to post it as an inside tip for people to get out and go fishing!

hello

Hey Stacie I checked out Battleground and was wondering a few things... First of all, when does the lake typically pick up? When I went it was just DEAD!!! I hear normally its good though.

Second, what kind of good hunting is down there? And good lakes for duck, or state land for deer?

Thanks!!

Curtis

Hey Stacie, just wanna say thanx for all the posts and great insights for the season. Family and friends all had many a great time and my sister-in-law wants to know when we'll bring e'm again. Hanging up the trout rods for now, but will be back again next year when the weather gets warmer and more vacation time accumulated. Just to let you know, the biggest fish was a 21" kokanee by my niece and took her for a ride she won't forget hello

Welcome back, Stacie!
Troller:
Regarding Scanewa, I belive there is a report on the lake from a trip I took a few years back. You should check the archives section. If I recall right, the lake is well sheltered and runs 6-25 feet deep. I would troll those plugs about 20-30 pulls back, or, try casting small spinners and thin blades (Dick Nites) to them. Good luck!

All of our lowland lakes are a little slow right now, but should pick up here pretty soon. There are still holdovers in these lakes so there should be some fish out there!!

The catchable plants won't start until late December... although I have been bugging my boss to get the steelies starting in B.G. lake.
beathead

We have a lot of state land... just not any real great luck. Email me at kelsyslk@dfw.wa.gov and I will give you the name of the local wildlife bio who can probably give you all sorts of places to look into!
