I havn't fished Lenore in years, but as I remember it, most of the activity takes place in the north end of the lake. My question is - is there any way to get my pontoon boat to the north end of the lake, or should I bring my float tube.

I can carry the pontoon boat for 100 yards or so, but not much farther.

Also, any tips on fishing Lenore would be sincerely appreciated.

SURECATCH: there are launch ramps, parking areas, and outhouses at both the south and the north end of the lake.

watch out for spring winds; even though whitecaps may not build up, winds can sometimes really scoot 'ya along in a direction you might not want to go. one day i had trouble keeping from being blown against rocks.

Alot of people are parking on the side of the road on the north end of the lake and just launching their pontoon boats across the road from there. If you have a float tube you can park in the northernmost lot and walk about 75 yards to the water from there.

Black Chironomids are the standard fly here with a strike indicator. Various spinners and spoons work for hardware fishermen.

Good luck! fishy

When I drove by there yesterday I noticed about ten cars parked on the Alkali Lake side of the highway. There were about a dozen guys fishing right in the shallows at the north end of the lake.

Most guys were tubing.

Personally, I would go with the pontoon. You can get close enough to the lake for easy access. The pontoon can make life much easier if (when) that wind kicks up.
