gentlemen (woops! am i treading a bit gingerly upon the truth?): nice rainbow are available at banks lake. today, coulee-city jim (aka "the troutfisherman") accompanied me amidst the wind, low barometer, and new moon. and he snagged a decent 'bow. well, actually, it bit on his stingered k-fly teased with a morsel of white power bait, trolled behind a couple of flashers. this trout fought as if it were about 50% bigger than it was.

had some other strong bites, and fish on.

the wind, however, made for ghastly boat navigation; at one point we were actually trolling sideways. we finally got blown off the water, back into the coulee city marina.

My recent outing to Banks Lake with Big John taught me two new lessons. Don't overlook the waters in your own back yard. When your partner has a bigger fish than yours on, tangle your line with his and chances are good the fish will escape. If this method fails you can always hit the fish with the net!

Were you guy's fishing out in front of the marina there, at the south end of the lake. I'm thinking about heading over there for a weekend. Was planning on fishing rufus wood's next friday and bank's on saturday. All this sunny weather we have been having in western washington has got me excited to go east to do some spring fishing.
