am i the only one who would like to see a law making it illegal to campaign for national office more than 30 days before the primary and general election.say every state has their primary on the same date. don't the british have some like this

I would love it but we have a small issue with the freedom of speech thingy.

they could do all the talking they want just take no money and all the primaries would be at the same time not spread out over a year

Still a violation of first amandment and of states rights.

It's easy. Just ban contributions from businesses and front organizations. The commercials would disappear overnight.

The above is just one more reason why we NEED campaign finance limts. But the conservatives on the Supreme court - the ones appointed by Bush - voted that there should be no limits. There they go legislating from the bench again.

It's only "legislating from the bench" if you don't like the outcome...otherwise it's "wise judicial inquiry"...
