So why is Lake Goodwin so clear with such a clean bottom?
I know most other Western Washington lakes have a thick peat bottom and get full of weeds.
We were at Goodwin 5/10 and could not even find any lily pads.

It has to do with the age of the lake. Some lakes are the color of tea and some are even darker. These lakes are old ones. Lake Howard in the seven lakes area is the same way almost as clear as glass. Some one will probably call me a liar but this is what I read some where or heard it spoken. Not too sure but. what thumbs

Well, just wait till all the skiers and jetskiers start on it.... That always stirs it up a bit and then the algae will bloom with the increase in O2 and current and then no more clear......
My Dad lives on lake Loma and it is tea-colored all year due to the peat bottom, but stays clear......
