After receiving the depressing news last night, I need a vacation! (Or least a three day weekend.)

Lakers on downriggers seems right up my alley. I've already done a little research on the fishery and looks like a great family time.
How's March or April sound? Are there any accomodations with a dock close to Wapato Pt or Rocky Pt? Lastly, does anyone have a good topo of the lake?. I have been unable to locate one with depth contours.

Any info is appreciated!

Hey Downriggin', check out ItlCLEO's thread a few messages down. I know the lake pretty well, had waterfront property for about 10 years, until divorce forced a sale.

In Manson there's a pretty good motel called Mountain View Lodge. Clean and affordable, and lots of anglers stay there. It's only a mile from Mill Bay launch, so Rocky Point and the Monument are seconds away. In the evening, try the casino for luck and for dinner, the Mexican restaurant in town has the best salsa in the world.

If you're fishing for Macks, slow and deep by the monument. At the north end of the Narrows(by the yacht club) the lake drops off from 150' to 500' and more. Hit those dropoffs.
Macks also hit light, so watch your rod tip.

Good luck! beer

Downriggin,

Do feel free to contact guide Anton Jones - he's happy to provide information. Or, just read the articles I posted from trips taken with him. It's all there. You'll do great and catch lots of fish. smile

Just got back and would highly recomend it.I did not get any fishing in but heard a rumor that there was over a 1000 lakers caught inthe derby!Watched a guy catch three right in front of the property.I was hauling grease wood up the hill thinking that my priorities have realy gotten screwed up.

Lots for the family too.A trip up the lake would probably score some points as there Is some beautifull scenery up there.
