Now I know nothing of the inner workings of the Senate, but I do find it disturbing that the man couldn't/didn't/wouldn't do what he felt was right BEFORE his speech.

Now that can not be true SH. Anyone with half a brain knows that in order to get a leadership or key committee assignments you must march to the party drum. You don't think Patty ( I am a Parrot ) Murray is on the infamous committee to find the 1 point whatever Trillion in cuts because she is a " pragmatist" ? She is there to guard the hard left position period. At least Mr. Alexander was honest enough to walk the walk. You should not expect many other D's or R's to follow though as being a party hack is the way things go. Strange as it is the R's are more tolerate of differing moderate views than the D's are. Go figure.

I hope that's some kind of joke. The Teabaggers ran enough dimwits against not-so-moderate Republicans in all the primaries, and ended up winning enough primaries to really cost the R's a handful more seats when there was no way in hell those dingbat Baggers could ever win an election.

Find me even one instance of some "moderate view" amongst any of the Republican candidates for President...there aren't any...anything even slightly to the left of Atilla the Hun ever said or done by any of them is getting them skewered in the debates.
