Anyone know how to get information on unlisted lakes in Washington? Im particulary looking at Pend Oreille County, Wolf Lake specifically.

The Washington State Fishing Guide is the way to go, and one note is that the information changes around from year to year, so having several years of it is a good idea. Back issues are available in many used bookstores.

Actually I got the name of the lake off of a US Forest Service map. My grandfather has heard of the lake before, he used to run the Colville Fish Hatchery which stocked the public lakes in Pend Orielle County (and other counties) but he never stocked that lake as far as I know. A creek runs in and a creek runs out so I doubt it winter kills. I may have to contact the county auditor and find out the legals regarding the property surrounding the lake. If its government owned then its public because its not on the closed water list and both the WDFW or USFS have been able to provide me with more information on the lake. Who knows, if could be like Deception Lake and have a hole in it that drains the lake.
Too bad mapquest didnt have any aerial photos of it either like they do on the deer park area.

Ok well I finally got something through the WDFW regarding Wolf Lake. It is on USFS land and is not stocked. However, does prove its open to the public so next spring/summer I'm going to hike into it to see what I can see, even if there may not be anything but a mud hole there.
Oh the source was the biologist at the Colville Hatchery....also toldme Calispell lake is private if anyone was interested.
