Report…
So, I went east to Lenice for the second time in 2 weeks. Both times the fishing was OK… just OK… still a bit on the cold side but warming quickly. The fish seem in good shape. Gotta love those Tiger Trout… several to 20 inches! I say they should plant more, they are fun to catch and boy they are pretty fish. Some size 16 and 14 Chironomids coming off, and a lot of smaller bugs too. Did a bit or stripping and a bit of indicator fishing, both did about the same as far as producing. Heard and saw a nice horned owl, that was cool!
Now a statement or rant…
What kind of person (jackars) would leave “man's best friend” behind? I went to Lenice 2 Thursdays ago. There is a mixed breed Shepherd/Rottweiler ? that is wondering the parking lot and the hills, but is generally staying in the parking lot and camping area. Then, I go back this last weekend, and the dog greets me at camp (my buddy was there before me). He stays around; he greets everyone with a friendly wag of his stub tail. He plays with every dog at the camping or parking lot. Never growls, never jumps up, only barks at coyotes. He runs to the road to look at every car or truck (I am sure he is looking for his owner).
So, everyone asks if this is your dog to every other fisherman. Now, if I had a yard the dog would have come home in a heartbeat. So, finally a kind young man (that already had 2 dogs on his pontoon boat) said he would take the dog home and to the vet and then find a home for him or keep him…. Hell of a nice guy!!
Anyway… I tell you what in my opinion if I would have lost or lost track of a nice dog like that I would have gone back and looked for it… and if I couldn't take care of it anymore, I would have found a new home, shelter or for that matter put the dog down myself rather than dump/abandon and leave it to starve and fend for itself.
Sorry for the rant…
But some people shouldn't be allowed to own pet or have kids for that matter!
