Hi. I'm a newbie here, looking for some advice. My husband and I want to take the 7-yr-old grandson on a fishing trip, preferably in Western Washington, species preferred would be crappie, perch, bluegill etc. We had originally planned to go to the Potholes Reservoir in E. WA, but that's proving difficult to arrange.

Would greatly appreciate recommendations of where we could go with some expectation of success for the little guy. We don't have a boat, BTW. Anywhere on the west side of the mountains is OK!

You might have luck at Offutt Lake. They have a resort/dock---not sure if they rent boats or not.

Thanks for the tips, and keep 'em coming! I'll grab a map tomorrow and find these lakes.

Also check out the Featured Lake section on WL.com as several of these lakes have detailed write-ups, maps, and pictures. Good luck!
