Hit the lake for the first time this spring and it was a bust. Seen alot of fish on top of the water, but just couldn't get them to hit anything. I'll wait 2 weeks and try it again.

Craig, sounds grim, but it still was better than work Did you try any flys on the top? I have had great luck with a wooly bugger on a bunch of lakes the last two years and I am still green at the fly thing. Thanks for the report. old skier here

I hit Lake WA on Saturday with the same results as yourself Craig. Lots of sockeye smolt boiling but no cutthroat action.

Try flatline trolling a needlefish way behind the boat! Try different speeds.

Try trolling any lure that is the same size and color as a coho smolt near the surface.
Thats why the cutts are there is to eat the Coho smolt coming down the creek from the hatchery. Lots of line out and slow.
