I have been fishing out at silver lake 7 times since the opener and in 6-8 hours of fishing per day I have been out have caught no less than 35 trout. Mostly planted rainbow, nice fish, most between 12-14 inches with a few up to 16 inches(they are huge in this lake compared to plants in most parts of the state). Caught a few cutts and native rainbow too along with a 22 inch, 5lb triploid. I have limited every trip by releasing the majority of the fish and only keeping 5 trout over 15 inches. A size 1 pink and white dick nite on 4lb test on the ultra lite rod trolled briskly with no weight has done best. Also a wedding ring and worm. But the big 5lb triploid was caught on a olive wolley bugger trolled off my 3wt fly rod very slowly. I had floating line and a 20ft 2lb leader. What a tricky fight!

Curtis, Whats your boat look like? I've been out and taken out several different folks all with limits. I believe I have fed half of the community of Maple Falls. Great trading stock out this way, I to have put a 5 pound trip in the boat only with full sink fly line and a black wooley bugger. This is now considered according to the Bellingham Herald to be the premier trout lake in Whatcom County thanks to the on going efforts of the Trout Enhancement group and their triploid program. This group has brought excitement back to trout fishing here. I never fish on the weekends usually during the week 12' Gregor with the name PELICAN on the motor. I'm easy to recognize I'll be the good looking guy with the beard. lol Give me a holler if you see me.

The boat I am in is a 18 ft aluminum Woolridge sled with green writing. I am either out there alone or with my grandpa.
